Sustainable Building Structure for Fribourg`s "House of the Farmers"
The solid wood office building with its glazed shell is a showpiece of sustainable construction and the head office of the Agricultural Association of Baden (Badischer Landwirtschaftlicher Hauptverband - BLHV). With office space of 2,500 m² and 1,700 solid cubic metres of pinewood, the electrical systems and water pipes are among the few parts of the building that are not made of wood. A total of 3,500 m² were coated with Pyroplast® HW-100 (new product: Pyroplast® Wood T) for protection against fire.
